This beautifully preserved blue & white cobalt blue porcelain bowl could be made in the late Qing period in China, prior to the people's revolution that over threw the Emperor Puyi ( reigned 1908-1912) or Empress Dowager Cixi (1861-1908). It could be the product of the kilns of Jingdezhen cobalt blue paint in underglaze in inspiration derived from the Ming period Carp fish, popular theme of design through out the history of Chinese porcelain production. Due to it's size, this bowl could have been used as a household bowl, not withstanding the fact that this types of bowls are primary showcased for it's art value. Rare and truly sought after, as time has gone by, this piece of porcelain bowl could ornate the showrooms of the vintage porcelains at museums or at the private collector's household display.
