BLUE & WHITE CHINESE
RE-UNION HEXAGONAL FLOWER VASE
PORCELAIN BASE

Origin:

China

Location:

Jingdezhen

Period:

Jiajin Period (1522-66)

Features:

Can you see the hand painted lines showing the sign of age?

Extremely unusual flower vase base. This base of porcelain in cobalt blue underglaze shows the sign of age. Expected to be of Jianjing Period (1522-66), Ming Dynasty, this flower vase base is unusual. This porcelain base has been named as Re-Union base as we envisage and consider that this piece has met its match with our large flower vase within our collection. The size doesn't fit perfectly, but this hexagonal base is considered to have found it's match with the flower vase. These two pieces are collected coincidentally from two different places and context. Hence we rename this vase base as REUNION PORCELAIN base. A great collectible piece of an ancient blue and white porcelain in blue & white underglzae. Ideal for the collector or museum.
