It is one rare type of blue & white cobalt underglaze porcelain chalice. The writings in traditional Chinese characters depict the poetry written by the Emperor Quianglong (1711-1799). He was also known as Emperor Gaozhong of Qing, who wrote poetry almost daily aside from his imperial duty, This porcelain Chalice of wine cup is said to have been created to celebrate his penchants for writing poetry. This piece is a rare find for it's size and purpose it was manufactured for.
