This cup is probably made in order for to offering the ceremonial tea at the shrine of Buddha or Zen temple in Japan. Arita ware was influenced by the Chinese ceramics technology whilst these types of porcelains were produced with utmost care and passion as novelty. This cup bears red enamel paintings with black and gold fine lines showcasing the pure av-ante grade devotion in producing porcelain of novelty. Extremely rare find. Ideal for the collectors or museums.
