This ginger jar is produced in a hand drawn decoration with underglaze red enamel alongside blue cobalt with gold gilded finishing on the top. All characters or drawings are hand written depicting the finest quality Arita porcelain ware of the 17th – 18th Century Japan.

All Arita porcelains and ceramics wares are known as Imari, as it is a western especially English term for brightly coloured blue, gold, green, red in enamels including cobalt underglaze porcelains for export purpose, made in Arita region of Hizen Province of north western Kyushu in Japan between second half of the 17th and first half of the 18th century.
